Captain Tom Moore’s incredible effort in raising nearly £10million for the NHS has the Daily Star backing a campaign to see him knighted.
The 99-year-old war veteran originally aimed to collect £1,000 in donations by walking 100 lengths of his garden ahead of his 100th birthday.
But the former civil engineer became a hit online and has racked up millions of donations for the “marvellous” medics. As of Wednesday night the total stood at £9.6million.
A push to get Tom, from Marston Moretaine, Beds, honoured was then started by Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan yesterday.
