Zak Bennett-Eko threw his 11-month-old Zakari William Bennett-Eko into the water in Radcliffe on September 11, 2019. During the trial over Zakari's death, The Lowry Nightingale court heard Bennett-Eko told doctors he 'believed his son was the devil and that he was being told to drown him'.He had spiralled into a severe state of psychosis, the court theard.Bennett-Eko, 23, was today (Tuesday, December 1) sentenced to a hospital order under section 41 of the 1983 Mental Health Act having been found unanimously guilty of manslaughter by diminished responsibility by a jury.Before Mr Justice Fraser handed down the sentence, three psychiatrists who gave evidence said Bennett-Eko 'may never be released' from the secure hospital he has been at.
