in Wigan. The incident happened in Leigh at around 6am this morning (August 22). The man was cycling near the junction of the guided busway and Holden Road when he was approached by two men, described as being in their late teens.
One of the men hit the cyclist over the back of his head, causing him to fall off his bike. The victim was further assaulted as he lay on the floor.
The pair then stole his bike, phone and wallet before fleeing the scene. The victim was taken to hospital and treated for a head injury.
