Some fantasy action was just what the doctor ordered and Cursed on Netflix has certainly provided that. This new take on Arthurian legend centres on the future legendary figure of the Lady of the Lake, but here a young sorceress named Nimue, played by 13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford.

Nimue faces extreme loss as her home and family are destroyed by the religious extremist group known as the Red Paladins, led by the duplicitous Father Carden ( Peter Mullan ), who have been allowed to enact evil by King Uther Pendragon (Sebastian Armesto).

Gradually, Nimue finds allies in swashbuckling knight Arthur (Devon Terrell), Uther's sorcerer advisor Merlin ( Gustaf Skarsgard ), and Arthur's magical sister, Morgana (Shalom Brune-Franklin).
