Face masks are becoming an increasingly common sight across the UK as lockdown restrictions ease. Experts claim that the coverings can help stop the spread of coronavirus as they trap droplets created when people sneeze or cough.
It is now mandatory to wear them on public transport and travellers will be asked to wear them whilst flying abroad. All major airlines now request passengers over six years old to wear a mask as part of new safety measures designed to stop the spread of the virus.
But if you have a medical condition that means you shouldn’t wear one, you won’t need to. The safety guidelines have been issued by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
