Cristiano Ronaldo is the first footballer to become a billionaire, reportedly earning a whopping $105 million (£83 million) in the past year.The striker has beat his rival Lionel Messi to the spot, becoming the first football player in history to reach the milestone amount across his career, according to Forbes.The 35-year-old follows golfer Tiger Woods, who became a billionaire in 2009, and boxer Floyd Mayweather who reached the milestone in 2017.According to the site, Ronaldo made $650 million (£513 million) on the pitch, compared to Messi’s $605 million (£477 million) and Alex Rodriguez’s $450 million (£355 million).
