A photographer has captured the moment a wave crashed into a wall, forming a face shape reminiscent of Poseidon. The outline of a face with a crown can be seen in the crest of a 30ft wave whipped up by Storm Justine.
Mathieu Rivrin, who captured the incredible moment near his home in Lesconil, Brittany, was shocked to see what he thought was the face of the Greek god.
The 31-year-old said: "When I took the images, the most powerful waves of the storm were striking the French coast. "The waves were 10m high and when they hit the wall, the explosion was sometimes around 50m high.
