The proposal to install Tim Bowman as a joint boss was brought to an extraordinary meeting of Stockport council’s children and families scrutiny committee.
Mr Bowman currently holds the post at Tameside and is set to take on a three-year-secondment that will see him also take on the top role in Stockport.
A report to the committee describes him as a ‘high calibre individual’ with ‘considerable experience’ - while also noting the ‘tangible savings’ the move would deliver.
