Students have been left heartbroken after a "legend" school cleaner who kids invited to prom died from coronavirus. Tributes have poured in for Barrie Ashley, 67, an assistant care taker at Saddleworth School who had a "heart of gold." The care taker, who had worked in the school for a number of years, was admitted into hospital last week with Covid-19 symptoms and was transferred to intensive care and put on a ventilator.
Family was not able to visit him, however his brother Martin – who Barry lived with – spoke to him in a phone call to say his final goodbyes.
