A 12-year-old boy who only went to hospital because his worried mum thought he may have contracted coronavirus soon discovered he actually had cancer.

Cody Lockey from Darlington, County Durham, would have have died "within weeks" without urgent treatment, his family says. The young lad was taken to hospital on July 27 when worried Lisa Marie Harry noticed her son had developed a high temperature, as well as cold-like symptoms.
