The coronavirus self-isolation period for people coming back from holiday could be reduced from 14 days to seven, it has been reported.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said his coronavirus testing plans would get more people flying in the months ahead. Under current rules, anyone arriving in the UK from countries not considered "safe" due to their coronavirus rates must currently self-isolate for 14 days.

But this period could be cut by half and become seven days only, Mail Online reports. The Government, however, has not confirmed yet how long the isolation period may be under the new measures, as it is considering plans now.
