Eddie Howe has become the first Premier League boss to take a wage cut due to the coronavirus crisis. The Bournemouth manager has volunteered to have his £4m-a-year salary slashed to help keep people in jobs at the top flight club.

But despite ongoing talks between the Premier League and PFA, there has still been no breakthrough in negotiations to see if top flight players will agree to follow in Howe's footsteps and agree to a pay cut.

Discussions will continue today, with pressure mounting on clubs to reach an agreement with their multi-millionaire stars to accept a pay reduction.
