Coronation Street Tim star unrecognisable in past role as BBC show set to return

Coronation Street star once appeared in the show?Eagle-eyed viewers will be able to spot Tim Metcalfe star Joe Duttine in series one of Life On Mars, where he played Malcolm Cox in episode five.Joe looks worlds away from his cobbles character in the episode, dressed in seventies clothing including a brown leather jacket, patterned shirt and high waisted jeans - along with long brown hair flowing to his shoulders.He plays a pivotal role in the episode, when DI Sam Tyler, DCI Gene Hunt and WPC Annie Cartwright go undercover in a pub, to try find the person behind a murder.Joe's character is one of the many pub goers to be questioned, and later becomes a suspect, eventually revealing that he and a friend were behind the crime following a police chase.He is not the only Coronation Street star to have appeared in the smash hit time travelling crime series however.In series two, Toyah Battersby actress Georgia Taylor played a make-up sales person called Denise Williams, who has become involved in swinger's parties - with the team going undercover at one of the parties to investigate another murder.If that wasn't enough, one of the leading characters was played by none other than Emmerdale Will Taylor actor Dean Andrews, who starred as DS Ray Carling in both Life On Mars and it's spin-off series Ashes To Ashes, which was based in the eighties.With the show looking set to return following the announcement that a pilot episode had been written, could Dean make a return to the series?He previously told The Express: "It seems to be something that is still ongoing.
