Coronation Street fans will recognise Joseph's grandmother Linda from rival soap roles
dailystar.co.ukCoronation Street viewers have recently welcomed back Linda Hancock to Weatherfield and she’s already causing trouble between Chesney Brown and his son Joseph.But eagle-eyed fans may recognise the actress behind the role from rival soap roles.Blackpool-born star Jacqueline Leonard has been a regular fixture on some of the nations most watched TV shows over the years, including The Bill, Holby City and rival soap EastEnders.Fans may remember the 56-year-old actress starring as Lorraine Wicks in EastEnders all the way back in the 90s when she turned up to Albert Square in search of her son, Joe.She worked as a barmaid in The Queen Vic and started a romance with Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp).Jacquline's time on the BBC soap saw her act alongside Martine McCutheon as Tiffany Mitchell, who Grant dumped when she’s six months pregnant due to their affair.In later years, Jaqueline took on one of her most prominent roles as Dr Caroline Powers in Doctors.
Her character left the soap in 2001 after she developed feelings for her mum’s boyfriend David, played by theatre legend Darren Day.
