Nolan doesn’t allow chairs on set because it ‘stops people from working’ and naturally fans went wild for the revelation on Twitter.
But, the so-called chair ban has now been debunked, as Nolan’s rep has revealed that chairs aren’t banned, the film producer just refuses to use them.
In fact, Nolan only bans two things from his movies sets: mobile phones and smoking. Speaking to IndieWire, Kelly Bush Novak explained: ‘The only things banned from sets are cell phones (not always successfully) and smoking (very successfully).’Addressing the chair situation, she added: ‘The chairs Anne was referring to are the directors chairs clustered around the video monitor, allocated on the basis of hierarchy and not physical need.
