In partnership with Disney+ Nostalgia is a powerful thing; and for fans of Disney’s Mulan, its theme song Reflection by Christina Aguilera is as integral to the film as Mushu or the Matchmaker.

Fast-forward 22 years and Christina has re-recorded the song for the film’s (non-musical) live-action remake, released on Disney+ on September 4.

The track served as her debut single in America, released when she was 17 and ultimately secured her a record deal and earnt her instant credibility among established songwriters and producers.

While movie technology has come on leaps and bounds since the 1998 original, Reflection 2020 is nothing but pure and unfiltered Christina power-balladry.
