Chelsea are pushing ahead with plans to sign Kai Havertz and are set to open transfer talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a mega money deal for the Bundesliga outfit's highly-rated playmaker in the coming days.
The Blues are reportedly set to offer Havertz a five-year deal as they continue to revamp their squad this summer.Chelsea’s chances of landing the 21-year-old this summer were boosted by Leverkusen missing out on Champions League qualification, although they could still face competition for the player.According to a report from Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira, the Blues are already in talks with Havertz's agent and will now imminently attempt to negotiate a fee with Leverkusen themselves.Blues boss Frank Lampard has already added.
