Chelsea and Manchester United’s efforts to sign Lyon forward Moussa Dembele have taken a hit after Inter Milan reportedly entered the race for his signature.
Both Premier League teams had been considered to be the frontrunners to sign the Frenchman this summer, who is believed to favour a return to England should he leave.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the hunt for a new striker as he seeks a permanent replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who left Old Trafford for Inter last year.
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is also in the market for another forward man and wanted to sign the 23-year-old in January.
