West Ham defender Kurt Zouma has been dropped by Adidas amid calls for him to be banned from the France national team as the fallout from his cat slapping video continues.
Animal charity the RSPCA took the defender's pet cats away after videos circulated on social media on Tuesday of him kicking and slapping one of them.
The club's wellness partner, Vitality, which uses a sausage dog in its adverts, subsequently suspended its sponsorship of the Hammers with immediate effect.
And in a statement on Wednesday afternoon, boot maker Adidas confirmed that they had parted ways with the 27-year-old defender.Adidas said: "We have concluded our investigation and can confirm Kurt Zouma is no longer an adidas contracted athlete."Meanwhile, a French animal charity, 30 Millions D’amis, has called for the 27-year-old to be banned from the French national team as a result of his actions.
