Captain Tom Moore's incredible fundraising efforts have come to an end with the WWII veteran officially raising almost £33m for NHS charities.
The 100-year-old originally set out to walk 100 laps of his garden with a fundraising target of £1,000. But his appeal has captured the imagination of the British public with millions being raised for frontline NHS staff since its launch.
At midnight, Captain Tom's JustGiving page officially closed with some 1.52million people from around the world contributing a staggering final tally of £32,793,533.
Captain Tom has now encouraged people to continue to donate directly to NHS charities. He said earlier on Thursday: "My legs may be tired, but my mind is racing and I'm hoping to be back very soon
