Cancer patient says 'second wave is real' after seeing coronavirus patients arrive at AE

A cancer patient has warned a second wave of coronavirus is "real" after seeing four patients arrive at a hospital. Ave Thomas, 24, has visited A&E several times recently due to severe pain from his ongoing battle with cancer, which started when he had his appendix removed.

He was told he had a tumour at the start of 2019, and earlier this year was informed that it had returned in his abdomen. Ave, a performer from Coleshill, was left in excruciating pain on August 23 and was admitted to A&E at George Eliot Hospital.

It was there he said he was just metres away from four coronavirus patients. He told Birmingham Live : "I had a pretty worrying experience whilst at George Eliot Hospital. "I saw with my own eyes, four Covid-19 cases
