Alarming new data shows England's worst coronavirus hotspots have all seen large rises in their infection rates in the past week.
All 15 of the worst-affected local authorities have recorded large increases, with Bolton, Birmingham, Sunderland, Hertsmere and Bury all seeing their rates double.
Meanwhile Lincoln has seen its rate quadruple in just seven days, and West Lancashire now has a rate six times higher than the week before.
The figures, released by Public Health England, reveal that Bolton has 128.3 new infections per 100,000 - England's highest rate.
