Meanwhile, the energy provider's phone lines are engaged, making it impossible to contact the company directly.Customers at British Gas and EDF are reporting similar issues giving meter readings.
Customers of major energy companies have been advised that today is the last day to submit a meter reading before price hikes to ensure they're not overcharged by energy companies.A message on the British Gas website tells customers it is facing “some technical issues we’re trying to resolve as quickly as possible" and that after submitting meter readings it could take “a little time to update your account with the meter reading you provided today”.
EDF's website meanwhile reportedly says it is down for "essential maintenance" today.Customers on Twitter are fuming. One British Gas customer said: "Trying to submit a meter reading before the prices go through the roof and its not working....
