Britain has “no viable alternative” to the 14-day border quarantine, a minister has said. Officials slapped a quarantine order on travellers from Spain at the weekend, sparking chaos for airlines and travel companies at the height of the summer holiday season.
Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden told the BBC: "If we could avoid imposing quarantine in a way that it was safe to do so, of course, we would do that - that is why we keep it under review."
