Britain's Got Talent replacing X Factor in major ITV schedule shake-up

Britain's Got Talent bosses have made a major shake-up to the BGT live shows format for the first time ever. Not only that, but the ITV talent show is replacing The X Factor it seems, stealing its prime-time Autumn slot - while it is unsure if this is just a temporary move.

After X Factor was confirmed not to be airing in 2020, there's no going back as BGT has replaced it. The BGT semi-finals were supposed to air in May, along with the live final.

Normally, five or six semi-finals air across a whole week, before the weekend sees the final hosted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly.

But due to the coronavirus pandemic, the live shows were axed for the first time ever. All shows with studio audiences including Ant and Dec's Saturday Night
