Bridgerton Queen Charlotte star Golda Rosheuvl revealed her concerns for the nation's ageing monarch Queen Elizabeth. During the premiere for series two of Netflix's Bridgerton, Golda chatted exclusively to the Daily Star about how playing the TV queen has made her question the real royal family.

When asked if she had taken any inspiration from any strong historical figure for Queen Charlotte, she said: "You know what I don't and I haven't but recently and I don't know why this is, but I don't want to wish bad on our Queen but she's getting older and I just wonder if she's looking back on her life and what that's about."And I'm thinking about dynasty and what that word means to us as human beings, but also what that means to the Queen and her problems with her husband and all of that stuff and taking over that role."Who knows what our own monarchy has kind of done over the years and the loss of Phillip for her, so there's a lot of that is going on for me and I'm just sitting there and contemplating that, and I think that will work for series three when we come back to it and I think I will hold on to all of that for series three."Without giving any spoilers away, the series shows a closer insight as to what goes on in the Queen's palace and her marriage.Talking about these moments, Golda added: "It was really beautiful and important for the character I think it would be really easy to write a one-dimensional character that wears fabulous frocks and fabulous wigs and goes to the balls and is into the gossip."But to see her private life behind the scenes and see what she's struggling with and how her mates Lady Danbury and Violet kind of support her and are there and are really strong feminine energy for the Queen.
