A person has died following an explosion at Liverpool Women's Hospital. Counter terrorism are now leading an investigation after a car explosion outside the hospital at around 11am this morning.
Another person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries but is not believed to be in a life-threatening condition. No further information about the identity of the person who was killed has been released at this stage.
Police say they understand that the car involved was a taxi which pulled up at the hospital shortly before the explosion occurred.
