A 'vibrant and intelligent' boy, aged five, tragically died of sepsis just hours after being sent home with a "stomach big", an inquest heard.
Theodore Paul Cheetham-Serjen, known by those who loved him as Theo, passed away in hospital on December 30, 2019, after twice going into cardiac arrest.
Manchester Evening News reports that less than 24 hours earlier, concerned mum Paula had taken him to A&E with cold feet and hands, hot legs, diarrhoea and a temperature.
However, trainee medic Dr Grace Olowonyo, who examined little Theo, gave what coroner Timothy Brennand described as a 'presumptive diagnosis' of gastroenteritis.Theo was treated to McDonald's chicken nuggets due to being a 'brave boy in A&E'.
