Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks has been diagnosed with cancer, the club and player confirmed on Wednesday. The 24-year-old was on international duty with Wales last week and left the camp early following a medical examination.
Brooks, who joined Manchester City at the age of just seven in 2004 and spent a decade at the club, has since had a Stage 2 Hodgkin Lymphoma diagnosis confirmed.
The midfielder will next week begin treatment and remains upbeat after an initial positive prognosis from doctors.
