Boris Johnson has issued 'drastic measures' following an emergency Cobra meeting on Monday. It comes after 1,543 people were confirmed to have tested positive for coronavirus in the UK - however it is estimated that many more have been infected.
It has also now been confirmed that 55 people have died after contracting the virus. The Prime Minister addressed the public in a press conference following the committee meeting alongside the Government's chief medical officer Professor Chris Whitty and chief scientific advisor Sir Patrick Vallance.
