BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker was left baffled and rather disgusted as his co-star Nina Warhurst ate weeds live on-air.Nina was presenting live from an allotment in Derby to discuss the need to "use them or lose them", and highlight the importance of growing plants and veg not just for the local community but for mental health.But things turned awkward in the studio as Dan and his co-presenter Sally Nugent were both unconvinced by her facial expression while sampling some of the local produce.Nina kicked things off by telling the camera: "Dee, who runs this spot, she eats something from this land every day and says she saves a fortune.
Any produce that's left over goes into the local community. And they've been telling me that weeds are not weeds!"So a dandelion, for example - I've not tried it yet - but the advice here is to put it in a salad.
