Baseball player left red-faced after phone flies out of pocket in MLB debut

Rodolfo Castro was left embarrassed after receiving a call-up to the major league but forgetting his phone was in his back pocket, breaking league rules.The 23-year-old was playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates in Major League Baseball when the incident happened as Castro slid head first into third base and his phone flew onto the field.

This is definitely something that was an accident, a mistake, something I’m going to learn from. But definitely something I didn’t mean to happen.”On top of his embarrassment Castro could face a fine from the league which has a rule banning electronic devices on the field or in the dugout.The Dominican player was supported by Pirates manager Derek Shelton who added: “You stay around the game and you see things you haven’t seen before.
