Distressing footage emerged last month showing unarmed Mr Floyd pleading that he can't breathe as a white police officer kneels on his neck for nearly nine minutes, shortly before he died.
His senseless death sent shockwaves around the world as it sparked the Black Lives Matter movement - something that has seen protests take place in most countries around the globe.
