The Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith has reportedly signed up for the US version of the show.According to The Mirror, the 81-year-old Channel 4 star will join her UK colleague Paul Hollywood as a judge on The Great American Baking Show. The series, which is filmed in the UK tent in England, hasn't been aired in the US since the coronavirus pandemic and has also moved from ABC to streaming service The Roku Channel since last gracing screens.Prue is believed to have signed up for a single six-episode season of the reality series, as well as a celebrity special which will air later this year.Replacing former judge Sherry Yard, Prue will join Paul, 56, as a judge on the panel. Both stars of the UK series will be joined by pastry chef Johnny Johnny Iuzzini and Marcela Valladolid, with whom Paul previously had an affair. The longest serving Bake Off judge, Paul has appeared on a number of seasons of the US series, which Prue's predecessor and baking icon Mary Berry also judged for two seasons. While The Great American Baking Show will be changing broadcaster, a spokeswoman for the show's production company Love Productions assured fans it would be sticking to the classic format. The change follows the controversial decision to move The Great British Bake Off from its original public service broadcaster BBC to Channel 4 in 2017.The programme originally aired on BBC Two before landing a prime time BBC One slot.It eventually moved to Chanel 4 after Love Productions failed to agree terms with the BBC.The Great British Bake Off's departure from the BBC saw the show lose beloved judge Mary Berry, as well as presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins.Prue signed on in Mary's place, while Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig took on hosting.
