Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed the Gunners "had an agreement" to keep Serge Gnabry at the club but the player opted against signing it, instead making the move to Werder Bremen and then Bayern Munich.
Wenger admitted that he was "very sad" when Gnabry left and the forward has gone on to star for the German champions following a solitary season at Bremen.He has netted 36 goals and provided 23 assists in 87 appearances for Bayern and scored a brace in their 3-0 Champions League semi-final win over Lyon, to propel them into the final.
