Arsenal are the latest team to declare their interest in Manchester United defender Chris Smalling, according to reports. Smalling is enjoying a career renaissance on loan at Italian side Roma this season and has put in a string of great performances in Serie A to become a key member of the side.
The centre-back has missed just two games, due to injury, since making his debut at the Stadio Olimpico and there have even been calls for him to recalled to Gareth Southgate's England squad ahead of this summer's European Championships.
As a result, the Romans are keen to keep Smalling on a permanent basis but they may face some stiff opposition from a collection of Premier League sides.
