fish during a four-hour long battle to obtain the mammoth creature. Devin Sarver posted jaw-dropping pictures of the Bluefin Tuna on Facebook after catching it while fishing in Destin, Florida on the weekend.
The monster weighed a whopping 832 pounds and could have smashed the state's fishing record if it wasn't for a minor formality. For the record to have been accredited, the Bluefin Tuna would have had to be caught by just one fisherman, despite breaking the previous record. The angler was listed as a "whole team" of five which means everyone on the boat took turns to help tackle the fish.Speaking about his catch on Facebook, Mr Sarver said: "Uncertified state record at 832.2 pounds!!!
Words cannot express how grateful I am!"What happened to us the ups and downs of this battle make for a great story with great people!"5 hours before this fish was all said and done, this is what dreams are made of!"I’ve never had so much respect for a fish and to catch him in the Gulf of Mexico is a feat of its own!!
this bluefin was as bad as they come, God is great!"In response, the team were praised for their "impressive" catch as dozens of users congratulated them on their 4.5hr long battle.
