Angela Bailey was a Canadian sprinter who won a silver medal at the 1984 Olympics.Bailey was poised to go to her first Olympics in 1980, but after the U.S.

boycotted the Summer Olympics in Moscow, she didn’t make it to the Olympics until 1984 in Los Angeles. There, she was on the silver medal-winning 4×100 meters relay team.

Later, Bailey set a Canadian women’s record in the 100 meter dash in 1987, competing in Budapest with a time of 10.98 seconds.

The record still stands in her home country; the women’s world record is 10.49 seconds, set by Florence Griffith-Joyner (1959–1998) in 1988.
