Amazon and BT Sport to share Champions League rights in £1.5billion deal

Champions League rights from 2024-2027 in a reported £1.5billion.BT have been the sole broadcaster of European football in the UK since 2015.

But with the premier competition set to expand from 2024, UEFA have abandoned their exclusivity model.And that has paved the way for Amazon Prime Video to enhance their sports coverage, which has included two rounds of Premier League fixtures since the 2019/20 season.

They will get the first pick of the Tuesday night matches, which will be their one game a week, with BT retaining the majority of rights for the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.READ MORE: Lionel Messi ranked most valuable football veteran - two places above RonaldoThat fixture will always feature an English team during the group stages, and will apply up until the semi-finals if one remains in the competition.The Daily Mail claim the joint three-year deal is set to increase in value from the £1.2bn paid for rights from 2022-2024 to £1.5bn.
