It was a day that started like any other day. But by the end of it Hayley Tomlinson was laying flowers on a side street in Manchester city centre, with her daughters, Katie and Amy.
Hayley's ex-partner, the girls' father, Lee Warburton, had been at work when he was hit by a lorry. For Hayley, the worst moment of her life came when she had to tell Katie and Amy, then aged just 10 and 9, that he was dead. "As a parent you don't want to hurt your children and you've just destroyed their entire existence. "You just watch your children crumble in front of you," she says now.
HGV driver Lee, who was 53 and a had a son from a previous relationship, had been guiding in a delivery vehicle, as banksman, when he was hit by it.
