A Harry Potter TV series is ‘in development’ over at HBO Max

We’ve had books, films and a hit musical already but it looks like the world of Harry Potter is about to hit the small screen.

Sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that a live-action TV series set in the Wizarding World is in early development at HBO Max.

The team over at the Warner Media-backed streaming platform is reported to have already met with writers and opened up conversations exploring a variety of ideas of how to bring Harry Potter to our TV screens.

So far the ideas have been broad and they’re currently discussing the pitches from the early-stage exploratory meetings. These conversations are still very much in the early stage of development and no writer, showrunner or cast have been signed to the project.
