WWE legend CM Punk inspired controversial darts player Paul Nicholson

Back at the start of the 2010s, Paul Nicholson was determined to be different, to show some personality and engage with the sport’s growing number of fans.
Whether they loved him or hated him, they couldn’t ignore him.He took walk-ons in a new direction, taking inspiration from none other than the biggest name in WWE at the time, CM Punk.
Nicholson copied Punk by regularly yelling “it’s clobberin’ time!” during walk-ons and sitting cross-legged on stage. Explaining how Punk – real name Phil Brooks - inspired him at the time, Nicholson said, as per WestleTalk: “I’m a massive WWE fan, there’s a lot of WWE fans in the darting crowd, going to the tours that they do over here. “I shout ‘it’s clobberin’ time’ because that’s exactly what CM Punk shouts.
