The Signal Box Inn, which is in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, was created from a Victorian signal box and, as it measures just 2.4m by 2.4m, can "comfortably" accommodate only six people.

But while landlord Alan Cowood, 66, was able to reopen the pub on Saturday, customers were restricted to the newly refurbished beer garden.

Staff were allowed inside. "We've got one member of staff each side of the bar - one serving and one putting the drinks on a table for the customers to collect, and all payments are taken by card," Alan said.
