Women are keeping their intrauterine devices (IUD), known as the coil, after they've been removed and keeping them on a necklace.Some have chosen to frame their contraceptive devices and turn them into jewellery.Now videos on the platform show women fashioning the IUD into a necklace by attaching a chain or rope and putting it on.Jorie Jaden created a storm when she posted a video to her 1.2million followers as it racked up over 200,000 likes.Females online explained how immortalising their IUDs makes them feel empowered.One said: "Reproductive care saves lives.

An IUD is a form of female contraception comprising a small T-shaped device made from plastic and copper.It is inserted into the uterus and either releases copper or the hormone progestogen (in an IUS) to prevent pregnancy.According to the NHS, an IUD needs to be replaced every five to 10 years.
Now it seems that an increasing number of women are asking to keep the IUD as a souvenir. Jorie told Tyla: "As a teen mum it was very heavily pushed on me to start a form of birth control once my daughter was born."I choose the IUD, then shortly after getting it I came out as lesbian. "I knew all along if I was true to myself and escaped my situation, it would be unnecessary.
