A furious tenant is demanding compensation after being made to live in a council house littered with problems. Debbie Barker, 32, has lived in the property on Waterhead Road, Meir, for three years, with her children, husband and father-in-law.
But the mum-of-two says issues began with the three-bedroom property in 2019. They include a hole in the living room window, a leak by the front door, plaster falling off the walls, bricks falling through holes in the windows and damaged wood panels.
Now Debbie has resorted to calling in a lawyer and a surveyor in her battle against Stoke-on-Trent City Council. She said: “My son's bedroom is constantly cold and damp.
