Sally Kellerman has died at the age of 84, her son Jack Krane has announced. According to TMZ, the actress passed away in the early hours of Thursday 24 February at an assisted care facility in Los Angeles, California, after a battle with dementia.
Sally is said to have been first diagnosed back in 2017 and hasn't been doing very well in the last few years. Jack told the publication he saw his mum on Wednesday evening and it became clear it would be the last time as he said his final goodbyes.
Sally started her acting career back in 1957, when she played the role Marcia in film Reform School Girl. She was also one of the original actors to ever be cast in Star Trek, where she portrayed Dr Elizabeth Dehner. While she's been in everything from Back to School to Night Club, Sally is most remembered for being Major Margaret 'Hot Lips' Houlihan in M*A*S*H.
