It's understood the offender ran off on foot and cops are now appealing for witnesses to get in touch.A spokesman for the force said: "Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened, or who saw a man running away, is asked to message us on Live Chat via our website or call 101 quoting log 3707 from 13 July."At this time the force has not yet released a description of the attacker.
Neither has the victim’s identity been disclosed. A photo taken in the immediate aftermath of the attacked showed numerous emergency vehicles – namely one police car and three ambulances.Bystanders could also be seen gathered on the pavement nearby while a person wearing a hi-vis top could be seen near another group.
