EastEnders has seen many soap families come and go from the famous Albert Square but the soap really hasn't been the same since the Masood family left our screens.
The family first arrived on the square back in 2007. The Masoods were introduced by then executive producer Diederick Santer in a bid to 'diversify' the soap and make it 'feel more 21st century'.The Masoods were the first Muslim family to live in Albert Square since the Karims in the late 80s and the first Asian clan since the unpopular Ferreiras in 2003, who were axed after two years for being "unrealistic".
Fiery Zainab made her appearance on the Square first and was shortly followed by her husband Masood and their two kids Shabnam and Tamwar, The Mirror reports.
