Hairdressers have been given the green light to reopen on 4 July due to the easing of lockdown measures. Under the new guidelines hairdressers will be expected to implement health and safety measures to prevent the spreading of coronavirus.
The government guidance states that ‘hairdressers and barbershops will be permitted to reopen for services that relate to cutting or treating hair on the head only’.
Restaurants, pubs and cinemas are also allowed to reopen, but other beauty services such as nail studios, spas and tattoo shops must remain closed.
When hairdressers reopen they will need to operate with a number of new practices introduced to protect themselves and customers.
