A Wetherspoons pub has remained open despite being at the centre of a coronavirus outbreak after a staff member tested positive.

Nine workers have been sent home from the William Adams in Gorleston, Norfolk to self-isolate but customers have not yet been notified under the NHS test and trace system.

They are being told to only get tested if they have symptoms of the virus. The pub was allowed to stay open after being deep cleaned and visited on Sunday by Great Yarmouth Borough Council health officials who said all proper procedures had been followed.

Wetherspoons spokesman Eddie Gershon said it was believed a staff member had been infected after contact with someone outside the pub who had tested positive.
